How does it work?If you're going on an adventure or rendezvous, you should let someone you trust know where you're going and when you'll be back.In the event that you don't return by your expected date / time, your emergency contact will be emailed and they will have access to your plan info. What do I have to fill out?You need to fill out at least your name, email, and your emergency contact's email. All the rest is up to you, but the more, the better in case you don't return on time and your emergency contact needs to take action on your plan info like contacting additional help or authorities.Feel free to write out your plan in the area provided and even upload a file or photo, notes, a photo of your map, trailhead sign, or annything that would help locate you should you need assistance. What happens if I don't return?In the event that you don't return by your expected date / time, your emergency contact will be emailed and they will have access to your plan info.You and your emergency contact will be notified via email every hour, until you are checked-in as returned from your plan. The purpose of this is to let someone know where you've been and they can try to reach you or send for help. What if I forget to check-in when I return?That's ok, as sometimes adventures take a little longer than expected, or you forget.If you have returned and get a message about you being overdue from your plan, please login and mark yourself returned. Also give your emergency contact a call to let them know you're back and safe. Otherwise, your emergency contact may assume you have not returned as planned and need assistance. How much does it cost?Nothing! It's a FREE service provided by Rec+Safe.Rec-Safe is a non-profit whose mission is to help educate about recreational safety. Rec-Safe provides free services and programs to the community.
