Jeep Patriot (MK74)
Launched for 2007 as the boxy, classic-looking twin to the Compass, the Patriot was marketed as the best-priced SUV in America, starting at $14,985. Front-wheel drive was standard, but the Freedom Drive II package used a CVT with a low-range mode for a 19:1 crawl ratio and earned Trail Rated badging, with 9 in of ground clearance. A 2009 interior redesign brought softer materials, a 2011 facelift sharpened the styling and suspension, and a six-speed automatic arrived for 2014. Sales were strongest near the end of its run, and production stopped in December 2016.
