What we keep
- Your details: your name, email, birthday (for safety and the under-18 rate), and, if you give them, your phone, an emergency contact, a parent or guardian, and your school.
- Your use of the space: the days you check in, your bookings, your classes, and the tools you're signed off on.
- Your account: what you've been charged and what you've paid. Card payments go straight to Square, the card processor: we never see or keep card numbers.
- Your project diary, with its photos. Photos are made smaller when you add them, and the camera's details (the location too) are taken out.
- Checking in by phone: when you check in or out on your phone, it tells the site where it is, to make sure you're at the workshop. We keep how far away it was, not where you were. With automatic check-in on, the page looks at your phone's location only while it's open on your screen.
- Sign-in attempts: the time, the network address, and the browser, to stop abuse.
Who can see it
The workshop's staff see your details and your use of the space (the times you come and go, too), to run it and keep it safe. Instructors see who's in their classes. Your project diary is private to you and the workshop's admins, unless you share a project by its link or make it public. Other members see only that a tool or room is booked, not who booked it.
Your information isn't sold or shared. It's stored on a server in the United States run by Amazon Web Services, and emails are sent through Postmark.
Your calendar link
If you subscribe to your bookings in a calendar app, the link itself is the key: anyone with it can see your bookings. You can make a new link at any time in Your account, which stops the old one.
Taking it away
Close your account in Your account. Your details, your project diary, and your bookings and classes still to come are taken away. What you paid and owed, and the days you came, stay in the workshop's books, as "Former member", because a non-profit has to keep its records.
