Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ)
The second Grand Cherokee kept the ZJ's 105.9-inch wheelbase but shared almost no parts with it. A new 4.7 L overhead-cam V8 replaced the older pushrod V8s, the spare tire moved under the cargo floor, and Quadra-Drive brought progressive locking differentials. The 2002 Overland added a high-output V8 and set a new luxury level. It sold strongly, with more than 1.4 million delivered through 2004.

Notes
Wikipedia says the five-speed 545RFE replaced the 45RFE for 2000, but Consumer Guide and EPA listings place the change in 2001. Sources disagree on the H.O. V8 (260 or 265 hp). Length and width vary slightly by year (181.5 in 1999 to 2000, 181.6 in 2001 to 2003, 181.3 in 2004). Wikipedia's sales table sums to 1,472,271, not its stated 1,451,889. Towing and ground clearance not confirmed.
