Jeep Commander
The Commander name has been used on two unrelated three-row Jeeps. The first was the boxy XK of 2006 to 2010, a seven-seat SUV built in Detroit on Grand Cherokee underpinnings; the second is a seven-seat crossover developed and built in Brazil from 2021 and sold in India as the Meridian.

Jeep Commander (Brazil and India; Meridian in India)
Jeep's first vehicle fully developed and built in Brazil, the Commander is a stretched, three-row relative of the second-generation Compass, about 365 mm longer on a wheelbase roughly 146 to 158 mm longer. It debuted in Brazil in August 2021 with a 1.3 L turbo flex engine or a 2.0 L turbodiesel, and India got it as the Meridian, diesel only, in May 2022. Brazil added a 272 hp Hurricane turbo four and a five-seat version for 2025, then a facelift with slimmer LED headlights for 2026. It has been a strong seller in Brazil, passing 70,000 units by August 2025.

XK
Jeep Commander (XK)
The XK Commander was the first Jeep with three rows of seats, a squared-off SUV built alongside the Grand Cherokee in Detroit and sharing its 109.5 in wheelbase and running gear. A raised roof over the second row gave stadium-style seating, and CommandView skylights let light into the rear. It offered a V6, a 4.7 L V8, and the 5.7 L Hemi, with three full-time 4x4 systems and up to 7,400 lb of towing. Sales started strongly but fell every year after 2006, and it was dropped after the 2010 model year.
